greet my morning eyes
the dream flees them hastily
but is forever engrained,
chiseled and fired on my mind
I try to blink it away
squeezing my eyes shut,
music, breakfast,
homework, sunsets,
I think of thousands of things, but the distractions fail me
for I open my eyes
pained that you were just a dream
it's too much
each night a different place
a different feel
a different kiss
each night it is you
you wanting me
you holding me
there is no gray in my dreams of you
each moment is filled with azure skies, and you
and golden fields of wheat, and you
each stock of gentle wheat slowly swaying in the gentle breeze
moving to the tune of my habitual humming
my humming love songs as I fall asleep
and you
